world of programming. it isn't written to teach you an entire language. it only shows you how different programming
languages work and teaches you about half of three different languages. 
The first four chapters are a must-read
for any new programmer. but after that, you should pick up a book that focuses on teaching you one programming language.


UPDATE(1/21/2014): 
I have taken a programming course in ANSI-C at the University of North Texas this
past fall and I have a few more things to say. 
It's great to have a book like this for a context. To answer
questions like: "What is it that programmers have to deal with? "What will programming do for me?" etc.

It's not good to rely solely on this book for your programming needs. During the past month I have read through a
few of the later chapters and found that much of the programming style of the source codes contained in this book is
sloppy. It was very ambitious of the author to try and explain such advanced algorithms and concepts in three different
languages, but by doing so, I feel much valuable information was not explained well or even lost somewhere in between
the pages that divide Liberty BASIC and C++. 

My original assessment was accurate and after having some
formal education and experience in Programming, I stand by my original review. 
It's nice to criticize, but please
don't rely on this book for anything other than finding out about the many different applications for programming.
